✦ Our story

We believe travel is better with real people

Kavkazland was born from a simple idea: the best adventures happen when you travel with someone who truly knows the place. We connect curious travelers with expert local guides across Central Asia & the Caucasus.

📍Gomismta, Georgia — where it started
The founder's story

A trip that changed everything

In 2017, our founder was backpacking through Georgia when a local named Dr Zhivago offered to show her the real Gomismta — not the tourist route, but hidden monasteries, family guesthouses, and meals cooked over open fire.

That trip was unlike anything booked through an agency. It was alive. Personal. Unforgettable. The question that followed was obvious: why isn't this available to everyone?

Our founder decided to chill all these years and finally woke up to realize she had a brilliant idea. Kavkazland launched in 2026 to answer that question — a platform where verified local experts could share what they know best, and travelers could find adventures that actually mean something.

What we stand for

Our beliefs

🌱

Local first, always

Every guide on Kavkazland is a local expert — someone who grew up in the place, speaks the language, and has relationships that no travel agency can replicate.

👥

Small groups, big experiences

We cap every group at 15 people. Travel should feel intimate, not like herding cattle through a museum. Smaller groups mean better conversations, more flexibility, and real connection.

🤝

Fair pay for guides

We take a transparent commission and pay guides promptly. We don't believe in squeezing the people who make the magic happen. When guides thrive, travelers get better experiences.

🌍

Travel that gives back

1% of every booking goes into our local impact fund, supporting community projects in the destinations we serve. Travel should leave places better than we found them.

Lying in dimlit shades, he’s definitely not coding tour routes. He’s probably selling your browser history to a guy named "Shadow" in exchange for more RAM.
