Every tour operator goes through a multi-step review before their first tour goes live

Application review
Guides submit their experience, destinations, and operator registration details. Our team reviews every application — no automated approvals.

Identity & credentials check
We verify government-issued ID, local guide licences where required, and any relevant certifications (first aid, mountaineering, diving, etc.).

Reference & review check
For new guides without a Kavkazland history, we request references from past travelers or partner organisations. Existing guides are monitored continuously via post-trip reviews.

Agreement to Guide Standards
Every guide must accept our Terms for Travel Experts including safety, communication, and small-group size rules before their profile goes live.

Ongoing monitoring
Guides are reviewed after every tour. A rating below 4.5 over 10+ reviews triggers a manual review. Repeated complaints result in suspension.

Payment protection
Your money is never sent directly to the guide — it's held securely until the tour begins
🔒 Secure escrow
Payments are held in escrow via our payment processor and only released to the guide after the tour start date. You're always protected until the last moment.
🏦 No direct wire transfers
We never ask you to pay guides directly via bank transfer or cash. All bookings must go through the Kavkazland platform to be covered by our guarantee.
💱 Multi-currency
Pay in your local currency. We handle conversion transparently. No hidden fees — the price you see is the price you pay.
🧾 Full receipts
You receive a complete booking confirmation and payment receipt immediately. Keep this for travel insurance claims if needed.

The Kavkazland Guarantee
If your guide cancels your booking for any reason within their control, if the tour is significantly different from what was advertised, or if there is a verifiable safety issue — you are entitled to a full refund. No questions asked, processed within 5 business days.

Cancellations & refunds
Clear, fair policies with no ambiguity
⏳ Cooling-off window (platform rule)
Every booking includes a short penalty-free cancellation window. You may cancel within 30 minutes of booking for a full refund, card fee included, whatever your departure date. This rule cannot be overridden by operators.
📋 Kavkazland standard policy
Refund less a 1% card fee 30+ days before · 50% refund 14–29 days before · No refund within 14 days. Operators may set stricter or more generous custom tiers — always check the tour listing before you pay.
🚫 If the operator cancels (platform rule)
If a Travel Expert cancels your confirmed booking for any reason within their control, you will receive a full refund of all amounts paid. This is a non-negotiable platform rule that cannot be changed by any operator.
🌦️ Force majeure
Cancellations due to natural disasters, government travel bans, or verifiable extreme weather qualify for a full refund regardless of policy.

Approved refunds are processed within 5 business days and returned to your original payment method. You'll receive confirmation by email.

What guides must provide and what we recommend you bring
🏥 First aid requirement
All guides on adventure, mountain, and trekking tours must hold a valid first aid certificate. This is verified at application and renewed annually.
📞 Emergency contacts
Your guide will share a local emergency contact number before the tour begins. You'll also receive a 24/7 Kavkazland support line in your booking confirmation.
📄 Travel insurance
We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance that covers trip cancellation and medical evacuation. Kavkazland does not provide travel insurance directly.
👥 Small group sizes
All tours are capped at 15 travelers. Smaller groups mean better safety oversight, more personal attention, and lower environmental impact.
